HAIR REGROWTH
PRP
“Platelet rich plasma can be used to assist with hair regrowth”
What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?
PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. It is a cosmetic medical procedure that involves extracting a small amount of your blood and processing it to concentrate the platelets. Platelets are a component of blood that contain numerous growth factors and proteins that aid in healing and tissue regeneration.
The process involved placing the blood taken in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from other blood components. The concentrated platelets, along with the plasma, are then collected and can be used for various medical purposes.
When used in hair restoration, PRP is injected into the scalp to stimulate hair follicles, promote hair growth, and improve the overall quality of the existing hair.

FAQs
-
PRP works by harnessing the growth factors and healing properties found in your own blood platelets, which are extracted, concentrated, and then injected into the scalp. These growth factors stimulate the hair follicles, which may promote hair regrowth, hair density and thickness.

Before having PRP at Allure Women's Healthcare clinic, a comprehensive consultation with one of our practitioners is an essential step. During this consultation, you will have the opportunity to openly discuss your concerns and desired outcomes with your practitioner.
Based on your individual needs, your practitioner will develop a personalised treatment plan and guide you through the entire process. They will explain how the treatment works, the potential benefits, associated costs, and any possible risks or complications. Additionally, they will provide you with post-treatment instructions.

The timeline for seeing results from PRP for hair regrowth can vary from person to person. Typically, noticeable improvements in hair growth and density can be observed within 2 to 3 months after starting PRP treatments. However, multiple sessions are often recommended, spaced several weeks apart, to achieve optimal results. Continued improvement may be seen over the course of several months as the hair follicles respond to the treatment.
